Made up some speaker mounts for a 6.5 in the doors. This fits a 145mm, 5.75" basket. If anyone wants. Remember to print from ABS or ASA. Pla won't take the heat and petg is iffy depending on where you are.

I can make a ring to fit anything else if you need. Just dm me with a speaker model.

Are these the same height as factory?

Long story short I have a set of JL Audio C1-650 and Crutchfield states they don't fit due to the mounting height of the brackets and speaker being too tall (.536"). That's with their included Metra 82-5605 brackets. I guess the height of the exposed face of the speaker interferes with the door card.

In order to figure out what would work I checked the JL Audio C2-600 which Crutchfield states fits. Mounting height with bracket is (.315").

Rough math tells me (.536-.315=.221)

If I had a bracket .221" shorter in height than the Metra 82-5605, I could make the JL C1 work.

Is that something you could do or sell to me?

I bought a used set of factory speakers, cut out the speakers and intended to shave them down but their hollow construction makes that impossible. Have had a pin in this project ever since

These lift the speaker up out of the door to aprx match the factory height. Its about 0.1" lower then the factory speakers top (where it mates to the door panel speaker grill area) to allow for the extra zmax of the speaker and make sure the surrounds don't rub. just looking the metra pics they look taller then mine, so yeah it would push the speaker into the grill? Just looking at it they should work. your speaker is a bit shorter then mine...... looks like it should work. i was trying to make as much magnet clearance as I can while keeping the surround from touching grill. can you measure the height of your metra ring from bottom to top? mine are 19.7mm. They dont give any dimensions in the manual. 1747319801094.png

I'll take some measurements as soon as I get home from work later this afternoon.

I added a "short" version that is 0.5" tall. should easily clear the door panel. The tall version places the top of the speaker 0.1" lower then factory..... so that should work for you but those short ones will for sure. The magnet clearing the window, make sure it does that before you close it all up. They are all in the cults3d link. Did you need them printed?

Quick question guys. Good thread for it. Do your back windows roll down all the way? I never checked before I put in Amazon spacers and speakers with huge magnets and now they don’t get the whole way down. It doesn’t bother me, just curious if I did that or they already stopped like that.

It depends on the shape of the door. Usually 4dr cars have a wheel well that cuts into the space the window would need to roll full down. My Flex 2nd row go full down.
