Recaro Seat Package.. Sell or Keep?

Forgive me in advance, I have absolutely no idea where this is supposed to properly be located..

But I have the Fiesta's ST2 Recaro seat package in the half-half black and gray, in great condition. Nothing outside normal wear. I had a guy offer me $1k USD for the whole set (front and rear sets, bench, headrests, etc), but to me, this doesn't really seem to fit due to Ford's abandonment of the FiST in the US. Sure, the seat package was an extra $1k almost TWO YEARS AGO, but the car is no longer being made. Let alone the seat package. If these cars are in such high demand (I feel like I've said this and it's not going to be true, please feel free to correct me), and the seat package with it, why wouldn't you want to sell it for higher? I personally don't want to sell my Recaro package at all. It's a bit of a collector's item, being the FiST is becoming a cult car (slowly, we're getting there!). Just kind of figured if I'm gonna sell the package, might as well follow supply and demand, right?

I was just looking for some insight and to see what the rest of the community's opinions were on this topic. Anything is welcome!

And if this doesn't belong here, so be it. I'm not directly selling. Just curious.

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it - if you think you can get more than $1k, then by all means try and get more. A lot of people seem to love the Recaros, some choose to sell them to recoup some of the investment on the car and go with something else... all depends on what you want.

Do not sell them unless you really dislike them, you might regret it . The Recaro package was not 1k it was a 2k upgrade on the car though a lot of us got our cars so cheap it was like buying a base with the package. That was my deal . I got my car below invoice for what it had on it Which was 3k in options aka Smoke Storm Recaro‘s , Ebony Wheels with red Calipers and Orange Spice Tri Coat paint. for $19678 strip away those options it would have been a base model for $16678.
I personally though would never sell my Recaro’s even if I did decide to try out different front seats like racing seats for track use. Why because yes you‘re right its a package and the car was optioned that way. Unless you absolutely hate them do not sell them. I happen to like mine a lot. They are not going anywhere.

It might have been a 2k factory option but if people don't care about a matching leather rear seat and don't mind doing some work, certain year Focus ST seats can be pretty easy swapped in for around 500. If you are really good, any year FoST seats will work if you do some brackets. There's a ton of info on this site about that swap.

So while it was an expensive option, the market is pretty well stocked with swappable seats, as lots of FoSTs were made with the Recaro, bringing the value down a bit.

Unless you MUST have direct swap FiST seats that is.

I appreciate your guys' input, for sure. I was just curious to see what everyone thought on the matter. Like I said, I'm not directly interested in selling my Recaro seat package, I have someone who might be deserving to have her ST-Line swapped from her ST1 seats :giggle:

Keep 'em unless you don't like 'em.
I tested one with Recaros and knew I didn't want them for a DD. Others love them because they are good for track stuff.

I suppose that's fair enough to say. I enjoy the seats, don't get me wrong. I just hate the half-half.. I want either all cloth or all leather. And tbh, for a daily, I want all leather. It's so much easier to clean and take care of. But for track use (which I plan), cloth is preferred. Regardless, I think I'll just hang onto them for now, like y'all are saying.

I had the same question and found this thread. I’m tired of stepping over my Recaros in the garage so figured I’d sell them since my car will never be stock again. $1000 is ridiculously cheap though. I’ll keep them for that. I figured mint Recaros would be worth $1500 at least. Maybe if they came out of a 90s Escort lol..

I sold my full Recaro interior for $1k last year. Probably could have gotten more but I gave the buyer of my car a good deal and tacked on $1k for the seats. I don't regret it because, like you, my car will never be close to stock again. I've slowly been putting interior pieces into my weekly recycling bin!

I agree with everyone saying keep them. Right now they're fairly cheap but in another several years when everyone elses seats are worn because of sun and etc, they will be worth so much more. I will never sell mine. I could see in the future someone/collector that needs mint seats paying anything for them if it's all they need to get the car setup perfectly.

I just had mine shampooed and they look perfect!

If you get ready to sell them, let me know. I'll see if my nephew has interest since his doesn't have them.
