Roof antenna confusion!

Okay I kind of feel like an idiot but something doesn't make sense with my roof antenna. I've had the car for just over a month, a 2014 ST (love it!) - and the previous owner put on a roof rack (which I don't want so I removed...) and took off the whip antenna. I still have the parts and it looks like it just screws in, but I'm going to post a photo of the antenna base that is on the roof of the car. There is no threads to screw into and it looks like the female part of the antenna mount is closed off?! I don't understand what's going on here. Help!!

Damn! I'm not sure why I never thought of that? But looking at that right side it looks like there's a little bit of a hole so something did get broken I suppose. That's a drag.... Thanks for the reply
