Steering wheel thumb grip hurts my thumbs?!

I've noticed the stitching on my steering wheel is very stiff and digs into my thumbs. I've been planning on getting a redline goods cover regardless but I just want to know if I'm the only one who's thumbs hurt lol.

It's more of the shape of the thumb grip area. Most cars have it thicker so you can wrap your hand around but the fiesta is extremely thin already, then add in the cut out, it leads to the stitching being "raised". In other words, yes I agree the steering wheel sucks I tend to hold it higher up now. Old school 10 and 2, even though I like 9 & 3 better. It's just not comfortable there.

Holy crap, something useful and thought out from a comment!
Yeah I usually drive around town at 2&10 but when I start sprited driving I prefer 9&3.
I need to just bite the bullet and buy the redline cover.
