Hey guys, I am sure a lot of you remember the thread with a previous tuner about this turbo upgrade. Many people thought it was scrapped due to the falling out between us, and them. This is actually not the case, the project moved forward, but with a little less urgency as we had many new projects for upcoming platforms on our plate. The good news is two-fold, we have our production sample completed, and waiting to ship to us, and we have teamed up with the great guys over at Panda Motorworks for tuning, and distribution of our upcoming cast unit.

To refresh everyone's memory

The upgrade is as follows:
Complete new turbo casting. NOT rebuild from stock cores, nor factory-new units. All factory restrictions removed, upgrades to all factory internals removing many of the issues causing premature failures on hybrids, full 2" compressor inlet with matching brand new CAST 2" inlet elbow included with every turbo. Plug, and play, no changes needed to ANY plumbing, water, oil, or downpipe. NO Core charges, keep you stock core, sell it, put the car back to stock, etc. 100% stock appearing from the outside, have no issues passing dealership inspections. Every VTT turbo comes with a 1 year unlimited milage warranty.

Two options will be available.

Stage 2 good for around 300WHP (tuning / fuel dependent) Stock spool
Stage 2+ good for around 325-350WHP (tuning / fuel dependent) Stock spool

Specs: See wheel comparisons

Pricing:

Stage 2 with new actuator and inlet tube $1499 supports 300WHP
Stage 2+ with new actuator and inlet tube $1599 supports 325-350WHP

Here are a few pics, keep in mind a few things will change aesthetically, one being our logo, this was just a placeholder for the production sample.

The timeline is as follow. We should have the production sample in hand in about 2 weeks. It will be given to Panda for install, tuning, and abuse testing. Basically, I will ask him to try to break the turbo. This is the best way to approach sample testing, weed any possible issues before you go into full production. Once that is completed, and we are happy with everything. We will approve production. Takes about 60 days to get production units from there. In the meantime, we will update this thread with dyno results, logs, etc to keep everyone in the loop.

Just to nip it in the bud, we will not be addressing any issues with the past tuner, nor any issues they claim, etc. We have tried working with them twice, there are many reasons it did not work. All of them if boiled down you would be left with, we simply do not get along. If you have direct questions about the turbo, that or other issues. Drop us a DM, or email to [email protected]. We will keep this thread, clean, and positive.

We are excited to see this product come to fruition finally!

Thanks! VTT Team

Fuck yeah, that pricing is awesome - I would definitely prefer to wait a long time and have Panda Motorworks weed out all the issues upfront rather than rush into production and have us deal with those issues.

Good to hear! In other application where the stock housing is larger, this may not be necessary...but our turbos are extremely tiny.

This is the BEST way to do a stock style hybrid turbo.

I am quite interested in this as when I go for a turbo upgrade I much prefer one that does not shift the torque band so much higher in the rpm range that the car suffers for it. Retaining stock or near stock low end torque is desirable IMO.

Yessir, we have been in the same location in Hayward since 1978, we have expanded quite a bit to another building across the street, but our original shop is still used as our install center. We are happy to offer local pick up to our customers who are in the area!
