Ticking Noise from A/C

It sounds like the airflow direction/control motor or limit switch broke?

If I set the airflow directed at the passenger only, it makes a loud ticking noise, almost like a gear popping. If it's directed at the passenger+feet, it's fine, and if it's directed to the windshield it's fine. Doesn't matter if it's on Hi/Lo/automatic.

Any thoughts on what part's going wrong or how to fix it? I'm trying to hold off on servicing my car while in Ithaca. The Ford dealership here has bad rep, and I've already experienced problems back in Houston with car joyriding.

NVM. Think I found it... but it's blend door actuator... Do wish the video worked.

Exactly what it is. If you still have the bumper to bumper, they'll fix it quickly for you.

Yep I had this exact same problem. It wasnt always consistent so the dealership had to sit on it for a day to make it reoccur. Once they got it to happen though they fixed it promptly!
