That's exciting!! Any plans to run an e-mix? Like e30?
No I don't think so, e20 might be the only thing I could try. I am out of fuel and that would just make it worse, you basically can't make any bigger numbers than this without supplementing the fuel system.

But I am doing a vp101 tune for shit and giggles to see how much it can make, but you don't run around the streets burning that stuff usually.

Subjectively or Objectively?

It torque steers at highway speeds in 3rd gear now or its 197HP vs 375HP
Subjectively. I hate the feeling of the stock turbo falling on its face. I'm use to bigger turbo cars that pull harder as the rpms increase. I'm trying to figure out if the turbo keeps pulling on the top end. If that's makes sense...

I got a clean pull through 3rd today, looks like it is going to be settling in around 285-300 wheel torque @ ~4300

Have been pulling it back some to stay within safe limits but it has hit a max of 318whp @6300 running 28psi (300 @5400 rpm) with 93oct
Good numbers. Seeing that 318, that's about where Russ made with the GTX2867r before running out of fuel as well. You should post up a vdyno, I am really curious to see how the power curve looks in comparison. Only way you will gain more power now is more octane or more fuel.

This turbo still has the upgraded GTX style billet compressor wheel right?

Really digging the look of your car.

2-2.5 is a non event, 2.5-3 it gets a bit stronger and is good enough, 3-3.5 it starts picking up some steam and 3.5-redline its a strong pull

After some more machining and some thread work I finally got the tow hook mounted at the depth I wanted, basically as deep as I could go while retaining room to mount the gopro on it still. I has about 2.5-3 inches of thread into the crash bar and a locking nut attached on the back side.

Thanks again to Russ for getting the crash bar fabricated to accept it.

Eagerly waiting to see your turbo upgrade results here...
Working on improving spool right now, latest revision got spool times down 200-300 rpm sooner for the same boost on average. Holding off on more top end because I ordered the aux fuel system since ended up having to pull boost because of running out of fuel. Going to finish off the pump gas tune then do an e20-30 tune, and then I have vp101 sitting around to try.

hey thanks for the update!...Seems like most folks who've installed these new turbo upgrade kits are requiring quite a bit more time than expected to tune everything out after initial install...Do you think this is because this is a relatively new upgrade platform for many of the tuners and that things are still being sorted out in the process adding to the time it takes?

I guess my main question is that after all the tuning nuances are finally ironed out with these relatively new turbo upgrade kits how many tuning iterations on average would you estimate need to be done after install of a similar kit?

Well I think most of us are firsts on turbo sizes so there is not a well known baseline to work from. I wouldn't think it would be to long to tune one if you have the same setup as something that has been tuned before. Mine has been drawn out very far. I started with a different tuner, then talked to Russ and switched to him. We tried to get my original setup were I wanted it, we did quite a bit of mechanical double checking (wg, leaks, header etc...) then he made me a catless and we tried again. Then I had him make the almost all new kit and we have been tuning it since. So mine would not be typical with all the tunes (and all the time waiting on parts to be made and installed). I have gotten a lot of revision and done a lot of logs, Russ has been committed to getting my shit right, it's taking time but is for sure doing his part.

And your pioneering efforts along with Russ's (of course) are very much appreciated!

Just curious as when everything is finally ironed out how long, on average, a re-tune process for this turbo kit would take once a base file for this upgrade is finally sorted out...

Not thread-jacking, but wanted to throw my $.02 in here. When Russ tuned my car, he had the baseline 91 tune completed within the first night of having the parts on the car. The only adjustments he made beyond that were for things that I requested be done to the tune. Now with that said, I have had many different types of fuel and fuel mixtures in my car since then.

thanks....that good to hear...

That's kinda what I'm hearing from Adam (Tune+) as well ...Which is after the install of turbo upgrade kit along with download of a baseline tune for the turbo kit it should only take a few iterations afterwards to dial in the final tune for that particular vehicle and adding additional slots for different fuelings of course will extend the time it takes...I was just trying to gauge average re-tune time required after turbo kit install...

Honestly think it all depends on where you are happy with the car.

I will say that the initial tune he gave me to run was pretty good, he has made 3-4 revisions so far on it and its close, just waiting on the aux fuel setup to finish it up.
3-4 revisions doesn't take to long, depends on how quick the turn around is on each one. Including you getting logs to them and them making changes, couple times its been a day or two before I got around to getting him new logs.

As this point since we started tuning back on my original ATP kit Russ has made 19 revisions, he is probably just getting tired of me now :)

Here is the first pull I did on the new kit on the first revision in 3rd gear, ignore the wheel spin and the green line is my old kits best performance.

Also remember this is all e-tuning. Traditionally, with either a street tune or dyno tune you show up that morning and you're done that afternoon. With e-tuning the lions share of time it takes is simply due to the back and forth nature or test-upload-send, retune-upload-send, rinse, repeat.

yes...this I understand as I am very familiar with the tuning process itself....I was just trying to get a sense of "average" number logged runs required to dial in these turbo upgrades through e-tuning...And I agree that dedicated dyno tuning would be a much quicker process which I am open to doing as well...
