See this is where I'm running into a confusion, some say it's TOO LOUD , some say it's not , some say it drones , some say it does not. I just don't want to buy it and then hate my life for it lol. It's either this or the Cpe and that's big bucks
If you're worry about being to loud then go with Cobb or cpe. I wanted Cobb I'm in the same boat as you just couldn't see myself paying 745 or 789 for an exhaust . Even though cpe couple hrs from me they said they can sell it to me for 680 pickup plus tax still pricey to me

Same situation here.

I think it is really pretty relative to the individual. If the things you are used to driving have always had a very quiet exhaust, this one will probably seem pretty loud. If you have had exhaust you could hear well before, then it might not be too bad.

Once mine is installed I am thinking I am not going to think it is that "loud." Drove a '65 Mustang V8 a little back in college days (20 years ago...) that had dual exhaust with two glasspacks that were put on it in the mid-1970s - so think two straight pipes by that point. Driving through the parking garage at school, I could rev the engine on the closed end of the garage and set off half a dozen car alarms. Had a '95 Neon SOHC (in which the cam was considered the performance cam for the SOHC from '96 on) that I put a glasspack on. That thing would fart and backfire on the overrun and scare people half to death (also embarrassed my wife so I took it easy when she was in the passenger seat). Current daily is an '03 Protege 5 with a Mazda Speed axle back that sounds pretty good as well.

So depending on what you might be used to might determine whether it will be too loud or not. Good luck.

So exhaust went on this morning (heaven help my 45 year old back - jack stands are a challenge to work with - a lift would have been much easier) and I intended to do a quick loop just to see how it sounded. Ended up 45 minutes later in the next county and really enjoying what I was hearing. With the windows up it is pretty quiet (pretty impressed at how quiet the car is with the windows up in general). With the windows down you can definitely hear it but it not too oppressive - burbles and such on the over run and it gets vocal when you put your foot into it.

Now I have a problem - figuring out how many layers I will need to wear in January because I am not sure if I can drive the car now with the windows up...

Wait till you add a catless downpipe and it gets louder and more popping and burble

My nexus should be here next week and my Cobb hangars from Mod Bargians (who take forever to ship shit) can't wait to hear it!

Just installed my MBRP the other day. I find at highway speeds when you arnt dipping into it too bad its pretty quiet in 6th. If you taking it really easy from 1st-5th you can keep it quiet and out of the drone also. Same with foot to the floor through the gears, sounds great and no drone. But when you dip into the throttle a bit when accelerating from 1st-5th she drones really bad in my opinion between 2800-4000k RPMS. Definitely a bit irritating. The entire rest of the RPM band is amazing though. Anyone else finding this?

But the burbles and popping during deceleration though. Yes this exhaust has drone and with symposer delete it helps out a bit and don't mind the drone at all. Don't regret purchasing mbrp especially for the price .

I havnt tried the symposer delete yet but i see how it could help considering how much sound the symposer produces.

Well you might as well try the sym delete, as easy as it is (and almost free). But it won't do much to quiet down a CBE......

To me it help a little because before the delete it was a buzzy drone in the cabin even with the windows up it was annoying . With the delete it help a tad bit . You definitely hear drone delectation above 3k rpms but when it drops under it quiets down . During quick shifts and daily driving it doesn't bother me one bit .

Had the exhaust since maybe october. Resonator recently went bad; rattle in between gears, low rpm, slightly louder through power band I believe. Had them send me a new one, which was also bad, it was rattling before installation so I called for another. Really awesome customer service but really was an inconvenience reinstalling the resonator. Overall I am pleased so, all in all check your resonator.

Check out whoosh motorsports. Cheapest price around, and I got it in one day for $20 in shipping.

I'm putting another resonator in mine tonight, I've got an 8 hour road trip coming up and that drone will kill me. I love the way this exhaust sounds, but when I get a headache from driving with the windows up, that's just piss poor design. Exhaust isn't touching anything, and no leaks. Mind you, I'm already completely deaf in one ear!

How much noise reduction would you say it did? My resonator plan failed. Not enough room to mount the resonator where i wanted. I have some peel and seal hanging around from another car I sound deadened. Maybe I'll give that a shot.
