Hatch Pop (Auto Open)

my 1st real mod that i will attempt: hatch pop, this was done on my previous car...

Hardware needed:


Strut done (other side looks the same):


Almost Closed from the inside:


Completly Closed from outside:


Video: FYI, it works like a charm, will do some testing in cold, hot and wet weather. Also need to tidy it up once I'm happy with the setup, I'll use crimp sleeving or something.

I still need to do this to my FiST, but i got the springs from a Hardware store.

Alright call me dense. How did you get the end of hte strut off to put the spring /oring/washer etc on?

FIgured it out. Sorry. For those who are wondering : Wrap the strut shaft with paper towel(rag) whatever you have. Vice grip it. Then use a wrench on the end to unloose.

Also. My strut shaft measured a tad smaller than 5/16. Therefore any washers needed to be 5/16th in size and the spring of course. I got bigger springs which didn't work. So I'm going with 5/16th and waiting for them to show up.
