Do you hide your Access Port ?

When you guys go somewhere and park your car do you hide the Access Port? Seems like it would be something thieves would break into your car for.

Mine is right in the open suction cupped to my windshield. I havent had any issues but then again Im usually parked in my gated community or my work parking garage. But any trips to get food, out for the night, etc I havent had any issues or feel that I'm worried about it happening.

Sometimes I leave it out, if I'm not going to be gone long. Most of the time I remove it from view.

No I don't hide it but my tint is 20% and its hard to see at a glance.

I'll hide mine if I'm parking in a bad area. Thieves are stupid enough to break my window for something that can't even be used unless it's unmarried from my car...

Usually toss it in the center console if I'm using it. Honestly a majority of the time I don't even have it going

Personally, I have no desire to have it in my car and potentially tempt some punk to break the window and take something they think has street value. So, I loaded the tune and put mine in the house. Plus, it's not married so that's $400 dollars sitting there that I can make back if I sell the car. To each their own though.

if you loaded the tune it's married. you have to flash back to stock before it can be used on another car.

My AP3 sits comfortably in its box in my house. Once I uploaded the tune, back to the box it went. I enjoy the performance, and don't desire to monitor values and have the distractions in a car which is only my daily driver.

I had one stolen from out of the car. $500 down the drain, its useless to anyone else, Stoopid Crack-Heads. I don't just hide the replacement, I take it with me.

I remove mine every day I park the car at the train station and toss it in the center armrest or if I'm away from the car in public for more than 20 minutes. Like everyone has said, it just isn't worth tempting people to take it because they might mistake it for a GPS or something and I risk getting a smashed window AND a stolen AP. Not to mention the tearing apart of my car they might do looking for other shit.

If you have the COBB AP, it does save so you can reload stock and it's not locked to the car, but the MOUNTUNE 215 locks the ECU for everyone except the dealer who can reset it back to stock. The mountune unit also keys itself to work on one car and one car only. That's what I had stolen. Absolutely worthless to anyone else and only good for me to use for information gathering.

When Ford installed the M215 (warranty sake) the Service Manager wasn't hip to the idea of mounting it. I mounted it for a little while, but then put it in the closet. I just wish you could export the display to the car's LCD, but maybe that isn't possible.

I don't have one yet, but I intend to keep it mounted and hide it when I park. I was also considering flashing and then putting it in the house and using a bluetooth OBD2 adapter and one of those iPhone/Android apps that displays the same info I could get with the AP. Would save on wire routing and I never leave my phone in the car so I don't have to worry about the AP getting stolen. That said, I'm not sure how accurate those apps are and that's my main hesitation.

The apps are just fine. They report the EXACT same information, and MORE. (Torque) .. The only thing I was concerned about was that, at least on the adapter I use(d) was that a little light remains on on the adapter. I was concerned that if I don't remove the adapter, that the battery could be drained, I might come out to find the car dead. .. I had paid for the TORQUE app, but I couldn't figure out how to make it NOT METRIC, so I deleted the paid version. Also I like to use WAZE,.. hard to have both apps up.
