Guy at work claims he has a 300hp SRT4 special order Abarth with carbon fiber body panels ( I covered it in refrigerator magnets one night) I met up with him at 2 lights and dusted him. Then train lenghted him on the on ramp. I let off and he blows by and doesn't let off till he's out of sight. I was on stage 1 Randy tune.

There are quite a bit of Fiesta ST owners here and most of them are stock but a few with some nice upgrades. No one has ever tried to race me in mine but I have had some Subaru people get visibly upset that I'm driving a FiST...I just don't understand how someone could get mad because of the car someone else is driving.

Unfortunately it seems the Focus RS is taking the crown from the wrx/sti as the 'bro' car. I fear that will soon apply to the FiST because of it's lower cost.

Personally I'm not convinced the RS badge will do anything for the Fiesta ST. Let's face it, the FiST is pretty much the cheapest performance car in the market. The 0-60 times aren't all that impressive, so from a marketing pov, it's terrible to car to sell by the numbers. It's a hot hatch, so it's not going to stand out in any way to the "average joe" either as a "performance car". On the contrary, I've seen people who don't know anything about cars think the BRZ's a Ferrari or something. lol

And like others have said, 90% of people on the road only use their car for A to B commuting. Your Fiesta ST looks like a Fit or Prius C. Nevermind the more aggressive styling "bodykit" on the FiST, they probably wouldn't even pick up on your red calipers or your low profile tires.

As for the actual car enthusiasts... There's still a good chance they don't know much about the Fiesta ST. If you're lucky, they might think it's a GTI or something (lol, or in my case, my car enthusiast friend thought it was my winter beater when I surprised him with my FiST during the winter). It's not JDM or Euro (that's a big deal in my area), because unless you're talking muscle, no one knows anything about American performance cars.

I can only hope the ST will make a bigger name for itself, but for the time being, the FiST (and even the FoST) is as rare as a unicorn on the street.

The rarity of these cars depends on area. There's two FiST's in my neighborhood, and I see 2 FoST's every day on the way to work.

Don't hesitate. Signal, move. See an opening? Take it. You'll be accommodated. It all happens much faster in Ca.

The crazies thing, to me, is people actually letting you in. Its just hard transitioning from everyone being overly aggressive, to mostly everyone being passive.

It's not that California drivers are passive. They're not. I don't know if it's that EVERYONE in California drives and only some in NY (people who have NEVER had a license in NYC? Really!?), or that people in N.Y. are only concerned with what THEY WANT, whereas everyone in CA knows if you miss an exit it could cost you hours so they'll let someone else have what they need--if they're quick--, but yes, people in Ca will let you in, whereas in NY they'll go out of their way to screw the next guy. Maybe it's because many of the NYers have driven in New Jersey! ? Man are the horrible there!!

Well I'm sort of generalizing everyone in NY, so ill say it like this: People in south NY only seem to care about what they're doing, doing it as quickly as possible with no regard to anyone but themselves. Then people in CA are like people in normal NY, just more relaxed...and nice. If you live in NYC though I can understand not having a licences, they have fairly decent public transport.

A REAL NY/NJ style deli is also a rarity outside of the area.

I moved only ~60 miles from them, and even though there are a lot of metro NY/NJ natives now living in this area, those style delis are nowhere to be found.

Dude, my roommates are from NJ. It's depressing on how much we've given up on finding good food out here. No pizza, no Italian food, no delis, dough just sucks out here. I shouldn't be complaint about this; but theres no good Chinese takeout either, it's all authentic and healthy. Not artery clogging and delicious like I remember. I mean at least we have Mexican food...

Dude, my roommates are from NJ. It's depressing on how much we've given up on finding good food out here. No pizza, no Italian food, no delis, dough just sucks out here. I shouldn't be complaint about this; but theres no good Chinese takeout either, it's all authentic and healthy. Not artery clogging and delicious like I remember. I mean at least we have Mexican food...

Ironically, the BEST Mexican food I've ever had (chimichangas to DIE for!) was at a place in East Hanover, N.J., owned and operated by (recently) naturalized Mexican Americans.

I've had this style food at multiple places in Tucson, Az., where I attended college (University Of Arizona), and although very good, those relatively close to the border eateries could not hold a candle to this Morris County establishment.

Ironically, the BEST Mexican food I've ever had (chimichangas to DIE for!) was at a place in East Hanover, N.J., owned and operated by (recently) naturalized Mexican Americans.

I've had this style food at multiple places in Tucson, Az., where I attended college (University Of Arizona), and although very good, those relatively close to the border eateries could not hold a candle to this Morris County establishment.

Can't remember the name of it, but this one place in San Diego....night have been the best food I've ever had.
