Anyone have a powdercoating hookup in or near Los Angeles?

better to paint. powdercoating potentially weakens the metal if done wrong. OE wheels are painted, why not just do it the OE way?

Paint tends to chip easier, no?

On the positive side, it should be cheaper than powdercoating.

technically powder coating is more durable. You plan on curbing your wheels? paint or powdercoating don't take well to curbs equally.

Anyways, if you want a shop who can do either I'd recommend http://truwheel.com/

Talk to Mike and let him know what you want and what he'd suggest.

Yep, they've been there for years. I'm pretty sure it's who Tru-Wheel use for clients that want powder coating.

Not yet.

Im currently struggling with the idea of paying near $400 to change the color of my wheels.

Ive been flirting with the idea of picking up a beater El Camino. Im interested in the undesired '73-'77 big body cars. I can pick up rollers for $400-500! I can drop a used ls swap or even a used 350/th350 combo for another $1-1.5k...
