I've been using the cruise control in city/local driving whenever I can. I picked up about 2 mpg per tank.

At low speed, say under 60, the cruise gives you great mileage.

I plan to use it this time on the almost 9 hour trip up to NEFR in Bethel, Maine this coming late July. [thumb]

I have a 30 minute ride to work and only a few stops so I pretty much use my cruise all the time. [driving]

depending on terrain. The most efficient method is pulse'n'glide, just stable throttle input comes in second, cruise control on flat land after that. then not caring or cruise control through hills are the worst.

gas engines use fuel most efficiently when you are accelerating, as counter intuitive as it sounds. so accelerating from 50-60 then coasting 60-50 is more efficient than cruise control on flat land at 55.
