[[IF YOU ARE GOING TO POST YOUR OWN SOUNDS, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR MODS]]

First video where I set out to actually try to record the sound. Just using the in-camera mic right now.

Thats with 2j intake and turbosmart em plumb back DV, the DV really "cleaned up" the sound.

With 2j and Turbosmart em vr2 DV (DV makes the sound much cleaner).
First time I had caffeine in a while, excuse the egregious enthusiasm.

With 2j and stock DV

I like it, it reminds me of my omni glhs and grand national. It's just light fluttering, like 2% more throttle and it'd just purge.
I like hearing mechanical things work, I feel like we only have a limitied time to do so before everything starts shifting electric. Yay CA.

Awesome video man, thanks for the upload. I got the 2JR and just ordered a plumb back turbo smart. Any noticeable differences with the turbosmart?

I moved from stock -> turbosmart em vr2 dual port (loud) -> turbosmart em vr2 plumb back. It's fine, seems to make the car hold boost longer and with an intake you can really hear the difference in the speed with which it opens/closes. Be careful during install, my dual port was keyed to only plug in one way, but the plumb back was not. When I plugged the plumb-back in backwards it split the connector for my DV harness.

I think I am going to sell my 2j intake, it just buzzes and rattles more than I am willing to tolerate on my daily. Pulling the cowl off twice a week to adjust it is getting old fast.

Just wait until a downpour. Then you’ll hear some sucking noises 😯

Did you damage the oem plug? Or the turbosmart plug? I think I may damaged the oem plug that goes from factory harness to the dv and am a bit worried. How did you fix the damaged plug? Can you just splice and soldier direct connection?

I haven't fixed it yet, I put it carefully back together. It didn't break but it had started to.

I've used the DV+ on a ton of other cars; great product, does what it's supposed to, but in my experience requires periodic lubrication. The plumb-back DV is essentially a whole new DV whereas the DV+ is a modification of your stock DV (*permanent* modification!!). The plumb back functions very much like OEM except faster. Both are faster and seal better than OEM.

Ah ok so it is one or the other you can't have both, so does the plumb back require any lubrication or maintenance?

Not that I am aware of. I only got one because I like the flutter sound, I'm not performance-oriented for my FiST so its not really "doing" much for me.

Ah, so for performance, would the GFB be better?

This why I'd just roll a BPV ADAPTER...NO Tomfoolery after install.
