When I have my foot on the foot rest to the left of the clutch, the arm of the clutch touches my shoe and stains it with grease. The same thing happens on the other side when braking. Has anyone noticed this and found a solution? Is it safe to wrap some electrical tape or something similar around the pedal arms to prevent this?

Those pivots have to be lubed with something, I don’t know what sort of a solution you’re going to find beyond wearing darker shoes. The pedal box is pretty small and the pivots pretty close. Putting electrical tape on there could eventually gum it up or pinch in the pivot and grease by it’s very nature is likely to “creep” through.
