Seatbelt Fraying

My seatbelt is fraying right around where it's locked into the seat.
Looks like wear from sliding through the seatbelt loop.

I've never had this issue before, and I called Ford and it turns out that the seatbelt warranty is 5yrs/50,000miles.

I have 115,000 miles.

Anyone else have this issue?

In the meantime, as unfortunate as this would be if you get into a wreck before you fix it, you can require your insurance company to replace those. They are supposed to be one wreck use.

Was the car in an accident or something? I've never heard of a seatbelt fraying.

Never in an accident.
I've never heard of this either.
But the threads are coming apart right where the buckle locks in.
