Hello all,

You know MK8 ST has a great pop/burble sounds in exhaust especially in Sport mode.

I have a MK7 ST without a resonator. But my exhaust is not doing any burbles or pops.

I just want quiet pops/burbles in my MK7 ST's exhaust just like MK8's. But I know if I want to crackle tune my car, I have to go with a catless downpipe also to not give any damage.

But as you know, MK8 ST has a catted downpipe on stock and still doing some pops.

If there is any way to have pops like MK8's in my MK7 with a catted downpipe, I would love to hear it.

Here is a sound comparison of MK7 and MK8:

Thanks in advance.

couple of things first off the MK8 is a 3 cylinder. It manages to carry the tone of a 6 partly because of it being half of one. lol
Though the other thing is the tone of it is directly part of the exhaust and the tune. You can get exhausts on the MK7 that will pop and burble a bit . My Thermal does, It does it even more now that I have a Mountune Sportcat and s280 Turbo . You can get tunes that have pops and burbles that will not be so aggressive that it will toast your cat. Crackle tunes are harsher than pops and burbles tunes. Both Dizzy and Tuneplus offer pops and burbs tunes . Dizzy also has crackle tunes I believe.
Though ya you are never gonna get MK8 tone completely but you can get nice tone if you combine the right exhaust with a decent tune, Any tune over stock will also inherently have minor pops or burbles as well.

Thanks for the reply.

I just want to hear quiet pops, nothing loud. I have a stock muffler and cat without a resonator.

I will search for the tunes you mentioned. But I afraid to go with stock cat.

Even if MK8 has a 3-cylinder engine (which sounds pretty good, I was driving a MK7 Black before) I can't understand how they make the car pop with the stock cat and still being in warranty.

if you want quite pops get yourself an aftermarket exhaust.

I had a Supersprint muffler. Used it with and without resonator but I had too much drone in both. So I changed back to stock muffler with a resonator delete.

Even with Supersprint muffler, I only had sound with more bass, not pops.

ya no supersprint is junk IMO. If you are in Turkey I would say try and get a Scorpion exhaust
