Kia has already announced their performance version, the EV6 GT. It’s lots bigger than hot hatch size, though.

I like it, but I'm throwing my money at Ford again (which is a very weird thing to be saying). Put my order in for a Mach-E over the weekend. No idea when I'll see it of course.

It is nice to see more automakers starting to take EVs seriously. I think many are also realizing that you can make really crazy fast cars and have almost no penalty in terms of economy (seriously, who ever thought we'd see a nearly 600 horsepower Kia?). Ford seems to have realized that you can actually make a chassis that takes advantage of the low center of gravity of an EV, and get pretty decent driving dynamics out of it. Porsche makes something that properly takes corners too.

Now if someone could just come along and solve the battery weight problem.
