Hello all, so recently i had fixed some (loose) ends on my fiesta. I found that the damn turbo inlet elbow was basically falling off with one bolt holding on to it, and then about 5 of my header manifold studs were loose, wtf!? Anyway before any of that had happened I was getting a code P2096 (Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean) after I fixed everything it still came back also keep in mind this code started popping up after my tuner added the pop/cracks to my tune. My tuner said the pop cracks have nothing to do with that code. What could it be?

Who is your tuner? Stock Cat?

I would start by putting the tune without the pops/cracks on it and see if it fixes the problem. If not, check the rear O2 sensor, and if that's all good, your cat could have been destroyed by pops and cracks

Doesn't destroy Catalytic converters*.I've ran that on my Fiesta from the beginning at like 15k. Stock Turbsky w/Stock cat till 46k. Then Whoosh high flow cat till now 77k with BT. Both Stratified snap crackle pops and Dizzy pops.

Try Cataclean * clear the code....follow the directions to a T. Then come back and report.

Could also be that the secondary sensor is pulling an extreme lean reading from the burn of the fuel in the turbo/downpipe as it exits the exhaust. The cat is probably fine, but the sensor might just be reading way outside of its proper area.

My secondary sensor has a spacer to keep the the P0420 code away. But yah thats possible. I'll definitely have to take the pops and cracks out of the picture and see what happens because like i said i have never had that code till the pops were added.

Stratified, catless down pipe.
The tuner told me to do a leak test but im not even sure how to do that... is it like shooting pressurize vapor into the system or... ๐Ÿ˜–

It might clean the secondary O2 sensor, but very unlikely with the spacer putting it way out of the exhaust stream.

HOW do you get away with no catcon in Cali, or are there just no inspections at all there way out where you are in the desert?
