So I bought a 2017 FiST after driving a friend's 2019. Well it has sync 2 for some reason. I assume the previous owner killed the sync 3 unit and replaced it on the cheap with sync 2. It has the USB hub with an sd car reader but no connection to it. The hub won't charge my phone nor connect for data to the head unit. Really weird situation, I know. My question is: Is "upgrading" back to stock as simple as following the upgrade threads? Do I just need another sync 3 unit and drop it right in?

Also, is there a setting in forscan I can check to see if the USB is enabled for my current unit?

TIA

You may have to change the as-built on the APIM since whatever you use will likely have a different VIN but yes it should just be plug and play.

Is that something I can do myself using forscan?
