I feel that you owe the forum an apology for the eyesore this is the above grammatical abomination. Not only is it inaccurate, it’s just terribly written. If English isn’t your first language I understand, but then don’t talk shit in a language you don’t understand.

In addition to the decreased weight, less moving parts means less internal friction.

Here are some interesting and potentially relevant articles and pictures that help explain what they may have done... how they achieved same or better revs with a piston that's 20% larger...

Crankshaft designs have a lot of influence on power curves.

Note the two-up and two-down in close succession cylinder arrangement of a 1.6L short block...

Unable to find a 1.5L short block, this is a 1.0L...

Besides moving more air with a better turbo, perhaps inertial torque of the 3-pot crankshaft is a factor? That might have some bearing on the results of the rolling race. (before the 12 second over-boost limitation expires - the limitation presumably imposed for the cheaper cooling system) Torque is fun.

The 1.5 is a great engine. I thought I may regret it in my escape versus the 2.0 but I absolutely do not. It does sound weird though

THE MOTOR IS SOLID SO FAR. THEY DO HAVE RANS ISSUES IF YOU HAVE THE 8 SPEED

Trans is a total POS, I agree. It can never pick a gear and slams itself into gear once it finally does decide. I imagine it’ll self destruct at some point as a result. It does behave better in sport mode but seems to only use 6 or 7 of the gears which isn’t a big deal other than it being really buzzy at high RPM. It’s a company vehicle so I ultimately don’t care all that much unless it leaves me stuck on the side of the road.
