Just wanted to report that I am incredibly happy with the combination of two minor suspension modifications on my 2017 Fiesta ST: swift spec R lowering springs (stock struts) and the TB four point gusset traction bar. They play well together and, in combination, have resulted in some of the best turn in/balance I’ve ever experienced in a car. I started with the swift springs which, on their own, definitely helped. But the TB gusset traction bar enhanced the overall feel of the car greatly. It almost feels as if the gusset bar ties everything together and gives the front control arms enough stiffness to really take advantage of the firmer swift springs.
i had initially felt that the swift springs were too stiff and gave a crashy ride. I don’t know if the springs needed to settle in or if I’m just used to them now, but I absolutely love the balance of ride and handling. Initial turn in and mid-corner steering adjustments give such immediate response that the car feels telepathic. The gusset bar also seems to have eliminated wheel hop entirely for me.
for those who want the ultimate street car package without breaking the bank, I highly recommend this combo. I am considering adding a rear torsion bar stiffener just to see how it feels, but the current setup is so good that I should probably just leave it alone.
