Back In another!

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I had a 2016 Magnetic Fiesta ST back around 2020 and absolutely loved it. When the used car market went crazy, I had the chance to make great money on the car, which was too good to pass up, so I sold it.

Long story short, after trying a bunch of other cars—some of them more expensive (none of them better)—I'm back in another 2016 Magnetic Fiesta ST.

In the few months I've owned it, I've done a Recaro swap, added a JST tune, and knocked out all the typical maintenance you'd expect on a 100k-mile car.

I'd forgotten just how good these cars are. They're engaging enough to be fun every day, practical enough to live with, and cheap enough that you don't mind putting miles on them. For me, it's still the best daily driver I've ever owned.

Don't lift your car unless you are an actual WRC driver. You will do yourself no favors.

Lifting a Fiesta is a pretty bad idea, could increase the chance of a rollover. The reason the WRC cars can do it is because they have widebody kits and have suspensions tuned to support a widebody setup.

I am completely understanding of the risks and pitfalls with raising a vehicle, I have done it on other vehicles in the past.
This will be a slight raise to clear a slightly larger tire, not to clear 31-inch mud terrains and cut fenders.
It will likely end up slightly higher than a SES fiesta,
I'm after slightly increased ground clearance as this is my daily do everything car, I do not need 2 low vehicles.
I'm also trying to make a more compliant and NVH friendly ride, which I believe is more than doable with the correct parts, spring rates and dampening.

It is hard to beat when you add all the important factors up. Quickness (speed for people who invest in turbo upgrades), acceptable utility, gas mileage, relative comfort, reliability if it hasn't been abused, and relatively inexpensive buy in price (even when this was new I think it was ok) and fun. AND, it's discreet, MOST people think this car is ugly, lots of people dont like hatchbacks now, so if you're close to stock, you can essentially go anywhere without a worry.

lol EDIT: apparently though, if you live in UK/Europe - people steal these. I dont know enough to understand what they do with them when stolen, but here in US, only a very small niche group find any value in this car.
