Seems like the exhausts manufactures and their opinions are split on this issue. What do you guys think is the real difference between having a 2.5 vs 3" exhaust? And why would you prefer one over the other?

It seems like most of the guys that are going after big power are using the 3" while most everyone else is sticking with the 2.5". I would say for most of us with minor to moderate builds 2.5" is plenty and you probably wont see too much gains. Exhaust note will probably be deeper with the 3" though.

If you do not plan on upgrading the turbo, the 2.5" will be enough. The stock turbo doesn't flow too much.

2.5" is enough but like previously stated, if you plan on future mods (such as a bigger turbo) then a 3" system gives you some room to grow if max power is your thing.

Hmmm. Only saw the ST180 which I believe has a much shorter exhaust pipe.....
That's what I have. The tips are a bit "tucked" but it has grown on me. Scorpion can send you the right muffler section for USDM cars.
