The part i ordered seems to have one extra connection that points downwards and is intended to connect to lower intercooler fitting. Guessing based on this video that this part is from a 2015 or older model -

In the video though, at around 4 minutes, he connects the last fitting to the location on the intercooler, however on my car, the previous owner installed a COBB intake, and cobb's intake line has a T connection that connects to the lower intercooler (seen here:

).

My question is: do I need to get a new intake unit if the new EVAP purge harness requires a connection to the intercooler, since COBB's intake line also uses that same connection?

I purchased my part from FordPartsGiant, but Whoosh also sells the same item, claiming to be a conversion option for 2016+ model years by using the older OEM purge assemblys. Link here: https://whoosh-motorsports.myshopif...-to-convert-2016-fiesta-st-to-2014-2015-specs

I would appreciate anyone with insight on how to solve this compatibility issue.

first image shows the current COBB connection that is occupying the intercooler fitting. I will need to connect the new purge assembly using that fitting, and have no idea what to do with that leftover COBB line.

The difference between the 2014-2016(early) and 2016(late)-2019 Evap harnesses is that the early model is a single harness with the extra connection point at the hot side pipe.

The later model harness is two separate pieces. The second line runs from the hot side pipe to the Venturi on the induction pipe. To use the earlier model harness with the Cobb (which I’m assuming is the early model version), you remove the additional line that runs from hot side pipe to the intake and connect the Cobb line down below

As long as you have matching intake/induction hose and Evap harness, everything should connect up with no extra connections.
