Illustrates Ford and Chevy's latest offerings... 🤣🤣🤣

As time goes on it only gets ever harder it is to find a comparable replacement that is new, as compared to Ford and Chevy's past offerings. Not a fan of the stylings for the Civic SI + others. Golf is okay but it seems lie a pig by comparison.

My plan is to keep my FiST until the wheels fall off, but the only car in my consideration set right now for a replacement would be the Civic Type-R.

I'll never own anything by GM (laughable the Sonic would be compared anyway), the Veloster N is more comparable to the Focus ST, Minis are cool but their maintenance scares me, and hopefully I'm wrong but VW reliability scares me too.

The current gen Civic SI is very well reviewed, but if I was spending the $$ for a new car I just go balls deep and get the CTR.

Weird that your ChatGPT list ignored the Elantra N too. While its power and weight is more akin to the Focus ST too, at least it's still for sale. The Veloster N hasn't been available new for like three years.

Edit: The GR Corolla is very well reviewed too, but for my money the CTR is the more practical choice.

...either it's damaged, the wheels fall off or Ford brings it back over from EU... which ain't happening. They never advertised their cars then complained they didn't sell. The PowerShi(f)t automatic transmissions didn't help them either.

Velostor weighs a little more than the Golf. Not sure why it threw that on there.

Sonic RS is the closest size-wise from the other domestic nameplate. Back in 2016, sticking with the domestic nameplates it was between those two.

Same for the BMW-Cooper... reliability and maintenance. Those I know with them have auto-trans models though. (much heavier?)

I'd have to check the forums for the VW. Are they primarily talking about mods and mod-related problems like here?

All makes have their issues though some more than others. As far as the drivetrain and suspension, at least most of ours are self-inflicted.

I would replace the ST with a Si. It’s a better car anyway you slice it. About the only thing going for the FiST is you can find them for $5k all day long, drive them into the ground, replace & repeat. That’s my 2 cents.

I agree, and I find the styling just fine, which is more than I can say about Hondas from the past.
