Damned impressive for an early, very 'low tech' by today's standards 'blow through' carbed, single cam/2valve per cylinder setup, with VERY limited/restricted rules! [thumb] [driving]

Great find!

I have a friend currently restoring a Pangra. There's a reach... it was basically a dealer modified Pinto with a sloping nose and pop-up headlights. It had the stock Pinto engine fitted with a turbo. A (very) poor man's Pantera.

I have a Petersons 73 engine annual where they were building one for Bonneville. They said the 2.0 was a robust engine and would handle 400hp no problem.

I had a 1979 2.3L Turbo Capri RS. A whopping 150 HP. 0-60 was about 10 seconds. Traded it a year later for the 1979 Mustang Indy 500 pace car with the 302 (5.0) with a 2 bbl carb. also 150 HP but at least it had some torque! both 5 speed manuals. The Turbo never gave me problems but you had to keep the revs up to get any where. Turbo lag was bad.
