I wanted to share my experience and excitement around my new Cobb Accessport I picked up from ModBargins.com.

It has been a blast driving my ST around for the last two months now. It was so much fun out of the box, and a pleasure to listen to after I installed my Injen Intake. After what seemed like countless hours of reading I convinced myself to pull the trigger on the Accessport. I now understand why this should be your very first mod. What a easy to use, easy to install tool for our cars.

I decided to use the supplied mount to attach the AP to the side of the Sync display. (See picture below) The angle for viewing is perfect, and it seems very secure. It took all of about 10 minutes for the AP to backup the existing data and install the new map. I have some playing around to do when it comes to the gauge configuration I want, but I set a few things I wanted to see right off the bat.

I took a drive after installation, admittedly a little nervous, so I took it easy for about 20 minutes. After I decided things were going well I started to push things a bit and Wow is all I have to say. Certainly picked up a lot on the low end and seems much smoother in general. I haven't went too crazy as of yet but i'm sure the smiles will continue!

If you're still debating, please stop, and just buy one already! This is a no brainer. I'm looking forward to spring with a few more mods and maybe a pro tune to go along with it.

I also want to give another huge shoutout to ModBargins.com and Jurrian BlueBomber [email protected] for the excellent service, and even better prices! I have gotten both my intake, and now AP from them. Give them a call or send Jurrian an email or PM to order as the pricing on the website is only their best advertised. I wouldn't have got the AP this year if it wasn't for the incredible deal they run. I proudly wear my ModBargins t-shirt at any meet I goto.

I would buy it from a preferred pro-tuner that offers custom tuning with purchase, but that's just me. OTS tunes are still better than no tune, though.

That's fair. As bad as this sounds I guess i'd rather take the deal now and pay more later for the tune. Just working with the budget I have right now.

Also, I guess i'm already a bit nervous with a OTS tune let alone a custom one. What makes me trust Cobb's OTS stuff? I don't know, just perception I guess. I'm still needing to make some decisions before I decide who to trust my baby with. I'm probably overly concerned but yeah.

I was nervous as well prior to getting my AP. I used the 93 OTS stage 1 tune for a bit and got more comfortable once I learned more. Now I have a pro tune from Adam at MAPerformace. It is noticeable better than the Cobb OTS tunes. It is only $75 if you want a one time tune. I highly recommend you check it out if you are enjoying the OTS tune.

There's nothing wrong with doing it in steps; I understand budget issues.

Personally though, I would trust custom maps over maps designed to work for everyone. That should be self-explanatory. The OTS maps are good though, so don't take that the wrong way. They just leave some power on the table, for obvious reasons.

Yeah the more I think about it, the more that makes sense. Something else to look forward to!

My plan is to run OTS until I get the car where I want, and then pay for a custom tune. But I am excited to have my Cobb on the way to me!

Installed my Cobb stage 1 tune today, so far so good. Custom tunes will come later. Going from stock to Cobb stage 1 93 is a big improvement. This car is so receptive to mods, love it so far (2 months of ownership).

Same just running 93 Oct Stage 1. Still breaking in engine, so I am not revving it much. Had to drive around 20 minutes while the Sync software was updating. Pick a poor mounting location and mount fell off during the Sync upgrade. May look at another mounting solution or just leave it off the car all together, but the gauges are nice.

It was definitely fun when I bought my AP and went OTS through the stages, and then when I got my pro tune it was kicked up to the next level.

OP - Since you have AP, are you data logging and uploading your logs to www.datazap.me and Virtual Dyno?
