Started the car up this morning and let it warm up as I do, drove a short distance and smelt burning pastic. Pulled over got out of car to find small amount of smoke, grab the fire extinguisher and found that my exhaust sheild had melted into my fuel tank. Im running a stainless steel 2.5" exhaust, there was no contact between exhaust and heat shield.

I've had my 3 inch mbrp on for over a month now I haven't seen any problems. What is that wet look? Did you spray the extinguisher

Been running 2.5 inch for 2 years no issues. Have it looked at. Maybe it is just the shield that fell on it and the smell was the heat shield glue.
