I've been thinking of upgrading to a CarPlay system just to bring things up to date and feel a bit more premium for driving. I've seen the Tesla style unit that fully integrates and also those Carpuride w905 that i'm interested in and wondered if anyone has any knowledge that might help me make the decision.

I like the idea of the Tesla one as it's locked in so know one can steal it but also thinking if you wanted to watch Netflix while stationary, this will probably drain the battery unless you have a back up external one maybe? I put currently with Sony stereo as i'm not sure if this version doesn't work with the Tesla style Carplay or not, have read some things unless there is a version that does now work?

The Carpuride w905 would sit nicely in front of the current display as not a lot happens on that and quite like the idea of an integrated dash cam but it's still which would be a better experience and work the best? Plus if this is only stuck to your dash i'd have to remove it every time i left it parked or hide it. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

I posted links for more info.

These units don't physically fit the US models - where the majority of this forum is - so I'm not sure anyone is going to have experience with them. That said, products like this generally have a poor reputation.

The recommendation here seems to be finding an OEM CarPlay compatible head unit and USB hub. There's a walkthrough here for the US models, but, again, we have a COMPLETELY different radio setup than you. https://www.fiestastforum.com/threads/ford-mytouch-to-sync3-with-carplay-upgrade.15035/
