Hey all. For a long time I've had an itch to have another car to throw on a track again. I started hunting Focus RSes a few months ago, but pricing was awful and some track reviews really turned me off especially with the RDU shut off issues.

One of my buddies has been hyping the Fiesta ST for a long time and I finally have the chance to test drive one about a week back. I figured what the hell, I'll see what it's about and at least be able to cross it off my list.

But my expectations were shattered when exposed to the turn in, road feel, midrange torque, and overall neutrality of this tossable little hatch on the highway and backroads of the East Bay.
The car is so much better than it has any right to be, and as many reviewers have noted, the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts. Having owned a BRZ as well as a WRX I can say that the Fiesta ST blows the doors off the BRZ coming out of the corners and probably from a stop, pulls about as hard as a WRX in the mid-range (esp. In 3d and 4th) or at least seems to with the power to weight ratio, and somehow seems to turn in better and understeer less than both. There's something about the quickness of the steering ratio and the accuracy of where you can place the tires that the BRZ approaches but can't match.

Needless to say I bought one a few days ago. My car has basically all options, white with Recaros, black rims, and sunroof. Got it for a song, which is in stark contrast from the RS. Also interesting, there is not much size difference between the two vehicles from my perspective in terms of shoulder room and leg room up front, or really elsewhere but the truck.

All in all I feel like I found the right economical 5 door sports car that fits in with our Ram 1500 Laramie and our Challenger RT.

I've already been lurking in the forums and learning a lot here so I look forward to talking with you all more about this awesome vehicle.
