Blower motor not working.

All of the sudden this morning my blower motor won't blow. It was about 1°F this morning and I left the house to find out I have no heat. It worked fine yesterday. I checked the fuse, I swapped in a known good relay, but still nothing. The climate control display is working and lights up normally. I can hear normal blendoor movement also. No other electrical issues, everything else works fine.

Please! If anyone has any advice or experience with this let me know. The only other odd thing is that the car was hard to start and my mpg/trip computer rest. I'm assuming my battery go too low over the cold night? Could this have impacted the blower motor?

Thanks for any help!

Unplug blower motor and apply direct 12v power to it with a battery of your choice* see if it turns on. IF it will not...reverse leads and check again. If nothing both ways....time for new blower motor* Good luck and keep us up to date with progress.

Thanks TyphoonFiST!
I found a TSB stating the blower motor could freeze from moisture getting in from the cowl pannel grill and freezing the motor over night. I cleared all the snow and ice from the cowl pannel and pointed the car into the sun. I guess this was enough to thaw it because it works again!

I wonder if anyone else has had this happen?
My guess is it going to happen to me again, but at least I don't have to freak out.
Also I believe there is some sort of filter Ford made to resolve this issue. I'll do more research and post more if I find useful info.

First I've read of a freezing issue.
Adding any sort of filter beneath the cowel becomes a repetative maintenance issue.
If you seen chimney caps, would need something like that.
Make sure your drain plugs are clogged full of crap.
Bought some door screen from the hardware store and added it beneath the cowel for my previous vehicle. Kept all the leaves and crap from building up beneath there. Should be standard for Ford but that would cost an extra 56¢.

Just an FYI, looks like it's buried.

Excellent information! We will chalk this up as a win-win!

Interesting.
They try to limit the amount of snow intake with a screen, part# D2BZ-18D395-B.

Looks like they still fall well short of screening-off the entire reservoir. I guess they're reserving that for the next TSB when someone's drains get clogged. (wishful thinking)
