Cam Bucket (for HPFP) Replacement

Has anyone found this to be necessary? I took mine out around 84k miles and it was completely flat, no issues. For those that HAVE replaced theirs, did you notice a difference at all? Either with fuel trims or mpg, power etc..?

Swapped mine ~80K when I upgraded the HPFP (a while you're in there job), measured the new and old with a micrometer and there was only about a .001" difference in thickness. Only the original coating was worn on the factory bucket at the point of contact. I suspect .001" is likely within tolerance.
