Just me and a Focus ST parked in the back of the lot each taking up two spots. I still don't know who the other driver is but we always park our cars one behind the other lol.

The only response I ever get is "you really painted your wheels purple?"
But most people I'm around don't care about cars so I never hear anything one way or the other.

Actual quote when I was at the dealership today, "how did you get those purple wheels on there, was that an option?"
The same salesman proceeded to tell me I should swap out my summer Bridgestone RE050a's for Michelin Defenders. After I told him about traction his response was well I don't know much about cars. Dude you work at a dealership!

An old lady mistook my car for her Prius. Doesn't get worse than that. I give tours at a prestigious car museum in L.A. People on my tours say "you must have a big car collection, right?" I love the chuckles when I tell them I drive a Fiesta.

That one sucks, a Prius, ouch!

I bought a Prius in 2005 for a business project, turbo, suspension, huge audiophile competition system ran off the 200VDC battery pack, etc.....after 4 days I took it back, I just could not drive an appliance without a hint of car soul.

I saw my friend's dad yesterday - I've known him probably 25 years. He asked me what I drive, because he hasn't seen me in a long time and he knows I'm a car nut.

I told him "Fiesta ST" and he was like "Wow, I never thought I'd hear you in a Fiesta!", and then I had to go on explaining that it's such a good car, that I sold my C6 to get into one.

Not everyone gets the whole car thing anyway, and I'm sure less get the FiST. It's ok. There's a ton of things others are into that I don't get.

I had a highly modded C6 convertible I rarely drove, traded in a really nice relatively stock 2000 Miata I actually enjoyed and drove more often. Traded the C6 in on a new Duramax dually, after taking off most of the mods and selling the parts for $30k. Then I bought the toyhauler trailer and kept working on a nuts E36 race car build but realized I did not want that much car on tracks I had never been on so parted it out and started on a 97' 332ti CA edition for a site seeing, grocery getting doggie hauler that would fit into the trailer. It would of been a $40k project and rebuilt from the ground up, 300HP at the crank, 2750lbs, barely fit in the trailer....While on a winter trip to AZ, up to Carson City, visiting the grandson in Sacramento I went out and drove a FiST, picked up my wife, she said BUY IT, I agreed and would of anyway, it might end up being my favorite all time all around car and have have built many.

I love to give rides but I might start making them slip on some Depends first.

I usually point them to the R&T test results for performance car of the year (when the FIST first came out). Third place out of 12 cars (mostly over 100K).........just lost out to the Corvette Z51 and the 296K MB SLS AMG Black Series! That gets them scratching their head!

Yes, the Prius is a car built for people who hate driving and hate themselves.

First car I've been excited about modding since my 8. My 18 cousin clowned on me for a while when she found out I was looking for a Fiesta.

Can't wait to add some HP to this little thing

It took a year and a half before the first person asked me if it was a Fiesta ST. That's been the only one.

I had a guy that interviewed me a couple years ago. I put on my resume some of my general interests just to see if any interviewer would pick up on those and talk about them. This guy saw cars and started talking about classic muscle cars. Then he asked me what kind of car I wanted. I had already test driven several Fiesta STs at that point so I knew I was going for it and told him that's what I wanted. I think he just said something like "really?" with a look on his face. Can't win em all. I didn't get the job, but then with the low pay and what he was saying about the atmosphere of the job, I didn't really want the job by the end of the interview anyway. :p

As for the Prius, my co-worker from our second shop bought a used Prius for his wife who worked as the front desk girl at my shop at the time. I noticed that it was parked out back several days in a row and her truck hasn't been there all week. So I asked her if she got a Prius and she said her husband was wondering how long it would take me to notice. He's a big truck guy that always crapped on my small cars. So the fact that he initiated the purchase of a small car that is the epitome of dull was funny. He came back getting all defensive saying but it was a good deal and makes 50MPG. Just because it says it makes 50MPG doesn't make it so in real world driving. I can get 41MPG highway in my Fiesta ST, but I have to try. If I don't try I get 33MPG highway. Honestly, that's plenty good for me. I am not big enough into saving money on gas that I could ever feel good about driving a Prius... A lot of the Prius drivers seem pretty aggressive in their driving too, so that really does kill the MPGs that they bought the car to make.
