I'm just about due for a clutch and I will be replacing the flywheel. I think by replacing it you'll get better clutch engagement sooner. Sort of like replacing rotors and pads vs just pads. There's more material to grab on sooner. I'd say replace it since you're already opening up the transmission. The part is only a couple hundred bucks if you go OEM so why not.

No you do not need to replace the flywheel if the flywheel is not damaged. If the flywheel is damaged you should replace it.

This car is equipped with a dual mass flywheel with shipping it is about $400. Even if you wanted to buy one they are currently out of stock when will they be available I do not know. Someone actually recently posted he was having work done at a dealership and they can't even get a OEM flywheel.
