Cobb AP Battery Drain

I know the AccessPort always warns you to hook up a battery charger when you are installing or uninstalling, but I assumed it was just a formality on their part so they couldn't be sued if your battery dies and your ECU is fucked. But today I uninstalled for the first time to take the car in for service and noticed that it took a little longer to turn over when I started up. I'm just wondering if anyone has actually had a battery die during/after installing/uninstalling and whether it actually bricked the ECU. Or are people typically using battery chargers as recommended?

That warning came from the earlier days when it took significantly longer to load/swap tunes. I don't think anyone used a charger then and that it was more of a formality than anything else. I've never used a charger.

I haven't used a charger either but it did seem to take a split second longer to start up after installing the tune for me.

Maybe it was just me THINKING it took longer because of the warning lol

I think when the Accessport if uninstalled it wipes the KAM (keep alive memory), so first start up will be unusual. Starting times should resume after the ECU learns a new KAM.

Yes, no issues here and I've swapped maps at least 400 times (laughs... not literally 400 times but sure feels like it).

I have left the AP on and not driven the car for two or three days and found the battery dead. But it actually solved a problem that I was having with my sound system being out. The reboot from a dead battery solved most of the problems except the No Signal Available message that keeps appearing even though I am listening to Sirrius just fine. Anyone else get that message.

I have mine set for auto power off when you shut the car off but I rarely ever leave it in the car... even when it's garaged.
