Hi,
Long time lurker and new member here.
Took my Fiesta ST to a mechanic after having a misfire. After stripping the engine bare he found a crack in the engine liner and a blown piston. Previous owner to me has remapped and not adding supporting parts.
Bought a brand new bare engine block, Mahle forged pistons, ZRP forged conrods, King racing main and rod bearings, RSport pro400 intercooler, Scorpion decat downpipe and Airtec stage 3 induction kit. Crankshaft has been polished.
Mechanic was just waiting on machinist and engine was ready for rebuild, however, machinist contacted my mechanic saying he was having trouble getting the crank to move in the new engine block. Old block was taken to machinist to compare. No issues and crank moved perfectly fine in old block.
Does this mean the brand new engine block is faulty? Mechanic said bearings may be the issue but more likely that the new block is faulty.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thank you
