Ah ok... If you're looking for a mechanical one that completely replaces the electronic valve, look into Turbosmart.

Is there really a reason for this if you don't have any real aspirations to go upgraded turbo? I'm looking at MAPs charge kit and the BOV option looks tempting but I would like to save money.

To be honest I just wants bit more noise from it ... Is there any point getting a new 1 if I'm not going to be upgrading my turbo ?

With a 2J Racing intake, you would be amazed to hear how often the stock electronic recirc valve is open. It used to open while cruising down the interstate. So yes, a mechanical one can benefit you in some ways.

My concern is the tuning of it. I don't want to have to screw around with it. I don't want flutter, etc. I know the stock ones aren't perfect but the thought of having to constant tighten or loosen this one doesn't thrill me. I think I'm just going to save myself 160 dollars and get the nice charge pipes without the BOV. Don't like the sound of venting to atmosphere... draws a lot of attention. My wife's Flex with a tune can outrun this car in the straights fully loaded with kids so I'm not trying to draw attention. If the mechanical on a stock turbo performs better and eliminates surging, etc and is fit and forget then maybe it's worth it.

Get yourself a Tial with the correct spring, never have to adjust it.
