I have a new 2016 Fiesta ST. In manual mode the heat is non existent. It only blows cold air. Sometimes auto mode will work, but more often than not, there is no heat. The dealer says it is an engineering issue with Ford, and no repairs will be attempted. Just wanted to let others with this problem know.

What is different on the 2016 than 14-15 that causes it?

also, try this.

get on the freeway. turn it off and wait.

shit will turn itself on

I'm just waiting for someone to say "they fixed it" and after 2 weeks if they still say its fixed, then i'll take mine to the dealer.

no way am i going to let them guinea pig this issue on my car. i'll wait till they have it figured out.

I just turned off the "Auto" and set the fan to "2" and it works fine for me.

in that setting yes. but auto on, or off all the way is basically unusable.

furthermore, anything more than 2 clicks from "hi" blows nothing but cold air

Man, I'm stumbling on these threads left and right :(. I just dropped mine off at the dealer today for this, I'll see what they say on the check-in call tomorrow and if they mirror what your dealer told you.

"We won't attempt a fix, it's a Ford engineering issue" sure as hell sounds to me like they are trying to save themselves from lemon law cases. 3 attempted repairs on the same issue, or 30 days in the shop, in the first 18 months of ownership is all it takes in my state, and I think it's pretty similar elsewhere, to get a case started.

Same issue for me! You are not alone. Gotta be software. The people that don't have it just never use it on auto... Which is the whole point of climate control. Typically ford is one of the best with climate control. My 86 Mark VII had it... Never went out, even after 250k miles.

In my case, it first blows cold air in auto for about 5 seconds then starts throwing heat. Does it every single time. As of it's coughing the cold air out of the system. it freezes me b4 heating me lol
