Hello everyone,
I am having a weird issue with my 2016 Fiesta ST. It currently has 35000 miles on it, but I’ve had this issue since I purchased the vehicle. Sometimes when I am shifting from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd, the engine will Rev up to 5000 rpm or so and then drop back down. And yes, I don’t have my foot on the gas or anywhere near it. In fact, most of the time, the only way of making it go back down is to hit the brakes. I have told my dealership about the issue numerous times and they have yet to do anything about it except tell me that they have reported the issue. I took it in today and they told me that because it’s a dual clutch that tries to act as an automatic, that that is probably the issue. But still won’t do anything about it because they can’t get the car to do it. The concerning part about this is I have shifted fully while this was going on and because I wasn’t paying enough attention my car lunged forward because the car was reving up. This obviously isn’t safe.
Has anyone else had any similar issues? Or have any idea what could be wrong? Or have any advise on how to get the dealer to actually fix the issue?
Thanks guys!
