Why does the FiST rear spoiler have slots? Anyone have any aerodynamic insights?

It wouldn't create downforce. It simply creates more drag and reduces lift.

The slots look good, although in the 2018 FiST they 've been deleted in favor of a flat and little longer spoiler [:)]

less water pooling, and maybe to reduce turbulence along the edges? the way they're shaped they probably balance pressure from behind the hatch to top edge of the slipstream. Would be interesting in a wind tunnel to see what smoke does across the holes.

to help clean the rear window? without the slots there would be "vacuum pocket" right there.

To aggravate you trying to get wax out of them.

Turbo Encabulators?
