So looking at maybe grabbing an oem replacement battery. I run into two choices that appear to fit this car.

BXT-96R-500

BXT-96R-590

The 590 has an extra 90 CCA.

Prices are identical at least on TASCA. Now whether or not TASCA will ship it and not cancel the order is another thing entirely.

Anyone else grab this as a replacement?

The original battery (going on 6 yrs) has been fantastic ie no corrosion on terminals.

I would get the more powerful one since I believe it only weighs about a pound and a half more than the less powerful one. That's not much weight, and you always want as much battery power as you can get without paying a big weight penalty, especially since you're in Pennsylvania where it can get pretty cold.

Going to try the local dealer and see what they can offer and what their prices are.

There was at one time a Motorcraft AGM battery available for our cars in the OEM size. I think it's discontinued, but you might ask the dealer about it. I believe the part number was-
BAGM96R

If you were to get either of those Motorcraft batteries there would be no need to have it shipped. Go to parts.ford.com (and use your login if you have created one and want to get FordPass points) and order it for pickup at your local Ford dealer. Right now both the 590 CCA and the 500 CCA batteries are the same price, $179.96 and available next day at my local dealer. $18 core charge if you don't bring the old one when you pick it up.

I actually can log into that. I used to order a lot of parts through that site then one day I noticed the "your price" became super inflated compared to say FordPartsGiant.
I'll check it out though, as I'll be pulling the car out of winter storage this coming weekend.

I'll ask on this but I spent a couple hours trying to find one of these last summer and its as if it didn't exist.
