Hi all! I've actually had my Fiesta for about 4 years now, and have been lurking the forums pretty much since I bought it. I spent a fair amount of time on here this summer, while hunting down an overheating problem, so I figured it was time to finally make an account.
I bought my 2016 Magnetic Grey ST1 in April of 2022 from a long haul trucker who said he had too many toys. It had a rebuilt title and 80k on the dash. I was recovering from a gnarly injury that took way longer to heal than I could have expected, so I wasn't really able to work on it for a few years.

This car started its life in NYC, and had 1 or 2 owners before a boyracer evidently slammed it with cheap springs and who knows what else, and subsequently got himself into a front end collision. Insurance totaled it, and this trucker ended up picking it up in an auction.
Dude did a lot of one-way car transpo jobs. So when he didn't have a load for the return trip, he would grab totaled cars for cheap wherever he was and bring them back home.

Enter: a flood damaged 2016 Magnetic Grey ST from somewhere.

This guy did a really solid job rebuilding the collision car from the parts he took from the flood car, and got a rebuilt title for it. He daily'd it bone stock for a few years, along with his other projects, but decided to sell in 2022.

I've put approx 40k miles on it, and it's been a fun, reliable daily. It's only left me stranded once (last week), and that was mostly my fault, because I didn't secure the alternator lead properly after changing the thermostat/coolant shutoff valve. I probably could have cleaned up the melty bits and gotten myself home, but insurance covered the tow and it broke down in a real nasty spot.
Anyway, I unfortunately neglected some of the creature comforts/minor maintenance for the first few years due to my aforementioned injury (those blend door actuators are still clicking their hearts out to this day). But, since I've been able to work on it again, I've been slowly bringing everything back to a nice stock baseline, with plans for *modest* mods to come as I have time/cash for funsies.

First step was fixing the overheating issue, which ended up being the coolant bypass valve, but I went ahead and changed out the shutoff valve and thermostat as well.
I binned the sound symposer while I was in there, sealing the inter-cooler pipe with a Dorman 2600 freeze plug.

Next step is going to be suspension, as the load bearing bits are starting to feel a little soft at 120k miles.

Then I'll tackle some aesthetics, touch up paint, headlights, and such.

From there....who's to say? it's a rebuilt title so I'm not concerned with holding value/keeping it pristine, but it's also my daily (and only) so it's gotta stay reliable for now.

It's cool this car got a second life and it's been treating you well for the most part. [driving]
Really happy it escaped the boneyard! And after 4 years and 40k I feel like you can't really ask for much better than what these cars have to offer, both in reliability and smiles per gallon.

Welcome to the forum as a poster instead of lurker. Great to see the car rebuilt and going strong! What’s the mod plan when you get there?

Thanks! I'm not 100% sure yet. I might do the B6 shocks as I cycle out suspension parts. From there I'm just thinking intake and basic tune.
I'd love to go crazy and big turbo it, but I only have room for one car, so this one's got to stay a reasonable daily.

Belated congrats on the ride. [thumb]

Are you part of the NJ ST group?
They used to be unofficially 'headquartered' at the former Smith Ford in Washington (N.J.), now taken over/acquired by the Fred Beans juggernaut (regrettably, I bought mine new from Fred Beans in Doylestown, Pa. [:(]).

But last time I stopped in that dealership there was not a trace of any of the members of that forum around that place anymore
