I would like to thank everyone here on the forum for making my decision to buy a new FiST an easy one. Finding a car that gives me the same in seat excitement of the 944 was a challenge. But unfortunately the 944 broke a timing belt and bent some valves, so since it is going to be a while while I tear the motor apart and rebuild and since the fiancee does not consider any of my motorcycles to be reliable transport, the search for a new car began. It was this forum that made me decide on the ST and for the one day I have had it so far I have not been disappointed!!!

Congrats and welcome. I'm thinking about picking up a 944 as a second car as well.

The 944 is a great car, just make sure the timing belt is in spec and don't wait to change it. My parts for a new timing belt, rollers, and water pump came in the day after I blew it up.

By all the positive reviews on here and elsewhere and all the fun it seemed you guys were having, I just felt like I was missing out on something.

Welcome. Totally different driving experience, but so much fun. I've had much quicker cars, higher HPcars, but never a car as fun. Enjoy.

Welcome! I had a 944 before I got the fiesta as well. If you are on the forums I was the person who posted on converting the 944 to an electric water pump and a $17 honda accord timing belt. That conversion made me not worry about the reliability of the 944 until a week later the stock clutch went, then the transmission rack and pinion broke, and I just gave up having it as my daily. They are fun cars but not in regards to depending on them with their age and previous owners lack of maintenance :(
