I will be working on some additional videos with better sound recording equipment. The GoPro in the waterproof case sucks for sound quality and the standard case results in just wind noise.

NICE Martini stripes/logos, and COOL plate as well!! [twothumb]

I still have an old t shirt from the era when McRae was driving the Valvoline sponsored, Martini liveried, Focus, with those same stripes running down the front side (of the shirt). :)

This FS Werks system is one of the ones I was considering IF the Tomei titanium deal somehow falls through.

Thanks, it took me 10 years of trying to get that plate before it finally became available. I think it was registered to a WRX every time I checked.

My 2000 Focus was patterned after the 1999-2000 Focus WRC, but in more of a "tuner" version of the livery.

I have all sorts of things from the McRae Focus WRC era; model cars, RC cars, Martini Racing jacket, t-shirts, posters, and magazines. The Focus WRC was a huge inspiration for my Focus 16 years ago. My ST plays homage to my Focus and WRC Focus with the Martini livery. I designed the stripes and had Rekliener Graphics turn the design into vinyl. The stripes follow the body character lines on the doors. A local graphics company made the Martini and FordRallyeSport decals.

It's cool to have another die hard fan on here!!

I've loved the Blue Oval rally machines ever since the early Mk.x, RWD, BDA engined, Escort days. :)

But my all time fave (besides the 'vaporware', group B homologated RS200s), is the group A/'WRC kit' Escort Cossies (both RS and WRC).
I STILL lust after those cars to this day!

I was OVERJOYED when the late Carl Merrill had a customer version built for him by Mr. Wilson, and had it shipped over here to campaign in the SCCA Pro Rally series.

And then, after Carl left us on the side of that mountain in Colorado, doing what he loved most, his crew chief/co-driver, Lance Smith somehow convinced the great Stig Blomqvist to come over and drive a few events as a tribute to Carl. [coolsmile]

I understand that plate being hard to come by in Michigan, being how that is one of the more 'rally dense' states in this land (both in competitors and enthusiasts).

Michigan is lucky to have 2 rounds of the Rally America series with the Sno*Drift and LSPR. We also have a large Subaru following in Michigan due to winter. A few weeks ago there was Focus WRC, Escort MkII, and a number of Group B rally cars on display in Detroit for the Concours of America event. Sadly, I did not make it to the show.

Most on here only know of Mountune because of their aftermarket parts offered for the FoST/FiST.

But I know (as do you) that they were THE complete engine builders/tuners for the Ford World Rally Team/M-Sport, from the late '80s, all the way up until Malcolm moved the engine program in house to Cumbria.

Those Mountune built, NA, Duratec deals used in the rear engined, GRC Super Lites are pretty wicked as well! [driving] [cool]
