Hey everyone. So ive got a 2016 mk7 ford fiesta st. The blowing system in the car is broken. Im not entirely sure what's wrong, but i can't direct the blowers anywhere but through the main ones on the dash. This is causing massive issues when my windscreen is getting fogged up and I cant clear it. The blower works fine when I select between 1 through 4, but i can't direct it anywhere. I was on a long drive the other day and the onscreen dash overheated and shut itself off. My suspicion is there's a broken connection somewhere which has caused the heat to blow over the electrics and overheat. Anyone know how to diagnose/fix? Thanks !!

Appreciate your reply. Im right hand drive in this country. Everywhere ive read has said that when the actuator goes, you'll hear a strange noise from the dash. I dont have that noise, just unable to direct the blower. Could this still be the same issue? Sorry I don't have a vast array of car knowledge !!

change the actuator. you don't always get the clicking. i did not. Make sure you get the correct one for the blend door, not the temp. They look identical but have different wire counts, and partsgeek doesn't send the correct one all the time. That took me a lot of time/money to figure out lol.

A couple of bandaid suggestions while you try to resolve your issue:
1. Apply an anti-fog chemical to the inside of your windows. RainX makes one that I use. I find my FiST very prone to window fogging and frosting in the winter.
2. You can buy a cheap portable heater which plugs into the 12v outlet and can defog your window.

I don't know what legality things say in UK, but if you can put even a light film on your windshield, that will stop it from fogging up (I haven't had mine fog up once since I got windshield tint)
