How long does it typically take for warranty approval?

My car has been at a Ford dealer since the 4th, still waiting for Ford to approve the required service. Meanwhile I've not yet been given a loaner and don't have another vehicle. Does it normally take this long? I was originally told 24-48 hours for approval.

It really depends on whats going on with the car and how sever it is. If its something basic then they are just not doing their work.

Back when I worked at a VW dealer it could take a while for warranty to approve certain things. Mostly to do with Engine and Trans, once they even sent engineers to look at the car.
