I got in an accident last week, and the insurance is totaling the car. I am wondering if it's worth going with "owner retained" and parting out the car?

The car had 46K and is a 2017 ST-2.

Depending on the cost to buy it from the insurance company, then that will give you your answer. People will buy most of the car, then you will need to dispose of the rest. Crashed, non-driveable Fiesta ST seem to go for around 2-4K on Copart.com, if that helps.

Also check with your insurance company about the actual price to buy it back. Some policies allow you not just first dibs on the salvage, but also offer you a steep discount from the “market value” to purchase the totaled car.
