Hi, I'm starting to investigate (potentially) buying a Cobb Accessport, potentially used. What does it mean if one is "married" or "unmarried", and what other information should I think about?
Thanks.

Married means that it is still electronically attached to a specific car/VIN and cannot be used on another car/VIN. If you are purchasing one you want to buy one 'unmarried'. Verify this before purchasing.

Look around and do your research on your tuning options. If you buy a new AP from a tuning company you get a free tune. If you buy used make sure you get all the cables that come with the AP and the car mount.

Fiesta STs and Focus STs (NOT AN RS THOUGH) the same Accessport. Its always easier to source a used Accessport from the Focus ST guys.

Buy it "unmarried" or expect to pay an additional $350 for Cobb to unlock it.

You can verify that the Accessport is unmarried by plugging it into any OBD2 on any car. If it’s unmarried it comes up with an install screen and you can also scroll to the help/about page and it will show uninstalled under installation state.

Pics are just from the internet so the one is a BMW version.
