I have been asked a few times now as to How To Remove the Mirror Caps.

silly question but where are step 1 to 5? I know you are talking about the cap and all but the mirror removal seems to be a prime step in your graphics. [poke]

or am I missing something (been known to happen)

Steps 1-5 are posted in post #1.
The previous steps are for removing the motor and the glass.
Those pieces you cannot buy anyway and would need to replace the complete mirror assembly.
And that would be another topic.
The steps I posted are required to remove the cap that allows you to replace the bulb or paint the cap as I did.

Can't find steps 1-5 and don't see how to remove these can't seem to squeeze cap from side like bulb thread say either any more info would be appreciated guys

The best way is to rotate the mirror to the down position, then you can see the clips.

You don't want to remove the glass because you WILL break it.
